In the framework of the project TUBITAK 1001 research project ‘Period integrals associated to Algebraic varieties’ (total budget 344.959TL, 03/2017- 03/2020) the following position will be available from October 2018: Master student 2200TL/month (12 months) You can participate to our workshop which will be held in IMBM from 27.07 until 30.07 to discuss details. You can find details of the workshop in turkmath's website. Research subjects: Transcendental algebraic geometry. Topology, complex analysis and geometry related to algebraic varieties. Monodromy groups. Discrete/arithmetic groups and representation theory. Galois covering and branching, degeneration of algebraic varieties. Topology of hyperplane arrangements, amoebas,braid groups. Hodge structure of the cohomology. Mirror symmetry conjecture (Fukaya category and derived category of coherent sheaves). Differential equations on the complex domain (Gel'fand-Kapranov-Zelevinski hypergeometric functions. Gauss-Manin systems: Picard-Fuchs eq.). We organize regular seminars every 3 weeks on Saturdays. The responsible persons give talks accessible to an audience with minimal prerequisites so that any desiring person may arrive at research level during one year or so. Last year the talks included following subjects: Gauss hypergeometric functions and their monodromy (algebraicity criteria), Introduction to toric geometry by W.Fulton (Chap. 1,2,3), Coherent sheaves, Zariski –van Kampen theorem on fundamental groups, Pochhammer hypergeometric functions and their applications to the mirror symmetry.
