A short introduction to contact geometries will be followed by a discussion of Einstein-Born-Infeld-AdS black holes and their thermodynamics as an application.

Academic Journey of Prof. Dr. Tekin Dereli

Prof. Dr. Tekin Dereli is one of the first graduates of Ankara Science High School. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Physics at METU. After conducting advanced research at Yale and Brandeis Universities in the USA, the Institute  for Theoretical Physics at the University of Vienna in Austria, and Lancaster  University in the UK, he served as a professor at METU and Ankara  University. He spent extended periods at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Italy. He is an emeritus faculty member of Koç University, where he worked as a Professor of Physics from 2001 to 2021.

He has received the TÜBİTAK Science Award (1996), the Prof. Dr. Mustafa Parlar Foundation  Science Award (1993), and the Sedat Simavi Foundation  Science Award (1989). He is a member of the Turkish  Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and the Science Academy. He has published more than 200 scientific articles on quantum mechanics and relativistic gravitation theories.
