During the last quarter of a century, there has been a significant interest in Sturm–Liouville operators with singular potentials in negative Sobolev spaces, which are understood in the sense of distributions. In particular, they cover various singular potentials widely used in physics such as the Dirac delta-function or Coulomb-type singularities. On the other hand, such settings are often more advantageous also from a purely mathematical point of view since they give a general treatment in the widest possible class. In particular, the classical inverse spectral theory was extended to operators with distributional potentials. In this talk, we present singular Sturm–Liouville-type operators with retarded argument and $W_2^{-1}$-potentials. A solution to the two-spectra inverse problem is obtained, including the uniqueness, necessary and sufficient conditions for its solvability, an algorithm, and uniform stability. The latter reveals an essential difference from the classical inverse Sturm–Liouville problem.
