Postdoc Position Postdoc Position on “Revealing Dynamics and Networks from Data”

  Details   A new project funded by TÜBİTAK awarded to Deniz Eroglu of NODDS research group for the period of 2019-2022. The position is open for applications for positions of postdoctoral researcher. The project will be oriented to establish pioneering methods for the reconstruction of network from data by using tools from the field of dynamical systems and machine learning. The application fields will be brain and climate systems. Applicant should hold a PhD degree in mathematics, physics or computer science and proven experience at least in one of the following: - Dynamics on networks - Ergodic theory and bifurcation theory - Machine learning techniques to estimate (chaotic) dynamics Applicant must be proficient in English language both written and spoken. Salary is 6500 Turkish Lira / month. Starting date is Feb 1, 2020 and the position is for one year with possible extension. Application deadline is Dec 15, 2019. Postdoc Position Postdoc Position on "Multifaceted Dynamics of Janus Oscillator Networks"

  Details   A new project funded by TÜBİTAK awarded to Deniz Eroglu of NODDS research group for the period of 2019-2022. The position is open for applications for positions of postdoctoral researcher. The project will be oriented to study dynamics of phase oscillators on complex networks and apply the theory on the applications of spintronics systems and the counter- rotating flagella in the cells. Applicant should hold a PhD degree in mathematics, physics or computer science and proven experience at least in one of the following: - Collective behavior of phase oscillators - Reduction techniques for the Kuramoto oscillators - Physics of spin systems - Mathematical modelling of biological systems Applicant must be proficient in English language both written and spoken.   Details   The Institute of Applied Geometry (www.ag.jku.at) at Johannes Kepler University, Linz/Austria, has several openings for postdoctoral research assistants (fixed-term contract for 1 year). Candidates with a strong background in at least one of the fields of Geometric Modeling and Numerical Analysis are encouraged to apply. Expertise on Isogeometric Analysis is particularly welcome. The research assistants will work in several national and European research projects, which are funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) through the National Research Network NFN ''Geometry + Simulation'' (www.gs.jku.at) and by an European Horizon 2020 ERC Advanced Grant. A PhD degree in mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field is required. The working language is English.   Details   The Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee invites applications for one Postdoctoral Research Associate (non-tenure eligible) position in Mathematical Data Science with an appointment beginning Fall 2018. The successful candidate will work directly with Professor Vasileios Maroulas in the area of topological data analysis, computational statistics and applied probability. The position is a 12-month 100% research appointment renewable for one year, based upon annual performance. A PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent degree earned between May 1, 2016 and August 31, 2018 is required. Salary will be competitive.   Details   Queen Mary University of London seeks to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to participate in the EPSRC-funded project “Challenges of Applied Algebraic Topology’’. The research will be undertaken under the supervision of Professor Michael Farber. The project studies probabilistic models of large random spaces and investigates their topological and geometric properties. Such spaces can be used for modelling large systems in various practical applications. The project also tackles some other problems of topological robotics such as investigation of topology of configuration spaces of linkages and more general mechanisms. Salary range £32,052 - £35,672 inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan. Closing date: March 6, 2016;
